Beer just ain’t what it used to be in Asheville North Carolina. It just keeps getting better and better. And recently, Catawba Valley Brewing Company opened up a second NC location in Biltmore Village. This place is great. They have so many great brews on tap, the staff is great, and the temporary location is the perfect spot to roll out the red carpet for their permanent location across the street, right behind Fig Bistro.

We have already have a bunch of great times at the new Catawba Valley Brewery! We walked in one night and Circus Mutt was on stage and the place was packed out.. running into the parking lot. Locals, tourists and friends all over the place. The spot is located about 1/2 mile straight outside the gates of the Biltmore Estate, right past several eateries and lots of shopping.

FTW Burlesque Asheville Takeover!

I was looking for a place to escape the other night, just for a moment to have a beer by myself, tweet a little, and plan some business. I ended up at the Toy Boat Community Art Space in Biltmore Village and in the middle of the FTW Burlesque Troop, Asheville’s newest rave on the scene; and I got more than what I bargained for. I stepped into the place and the doorman told me $15! I was like “what is going on here” while I scanned the room. The decor was right, the atmosphere was smooth, and people where smiling not smirking. I paid the money and walked to the bar. I have been to many burlesque shows in the community, some way overplayed, but this was new, so I stayed for a few, and glad I did.

I was greeted first by this lady in the black cloak and she let me take a photo of her. She looked like she had special powers, and plus, she had a glass of wine in her hand; combined with that light blue hair, I was hypnotized for a second.

But there were plenty of great performances ready to happen, like “Deb au Nare” in the middle photo here… she did a skit that was fast-paced and wow! Tristin (on left) and Memphis (on right) were also a part of the amazing entertainment!

After the show, instead of hiding in a back room, the FTW Burlesque Troop mingled in the crowd, took photos and had a great time with the audience and new fans that were there to show their support of this endeavor.

I went out, not planning on a “Booty Call” but still ended up with one. Hell, make that two. Thank you!

Asheville Restaurant – The Cantina at Biltmore

The Cantina at Biltmore Village in Asheville NC

I heard someone recently say… “there is not a bad place to eat in Biltmore Village” …and this has stuck in my head. I started thinking about it and the great food from Rezaz, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Red Stag Grill, Fig Bistro, Moe’s BBQ, Wayside, and of course… The Cantina at Historic Biltmore Village. Check out this new video…

The Cantina at Biltmore has become one of our main spots for great food, friend meetups, and business meetings. Much of the produce they use comes straight from their local farm, and fresh, delicious food is what they always serve. They have 3 private meeting and event rooms in the venue as well, so the perfect spot for a business luncheon, staff training and.. parties!!!

Lots of great things are happening in Biltmore Village; and The Cantina is definitely one of them. If you are coming out of the Biltmore Estate, go through 2 quick lights and The Cantina at Biltmore is located about 500 feet ahead on your right.
