Join the Asheville Ballet’s Lindsey Kelley for a week of Prince and Princess fun at Prince and Princess Dance Camp! Children, ages 3-6, are invited to a week-long camp of dancing, singing, acting, games, plus arts and crafts, July 23-27 from 9:00am to 12:00pm. From the beloved Cinderella to the brave Nutcracker Prince, we will explore the adventures of our favorite Princesses and Princes, as well as create our very own fairy tales. Children will learn the fundamentals of classical ballet and receive an introduction to both dance and acting improvisation. No prior dance training is necessary. Parents and visitors are invited to a special Prince and Princess Party at the end of the week. Come ready to move, create and be whisked away to a dancing dream land!
Camp will be held at The Asheville Ballet Studio, at 4 Weaverville Highway, Asheville NC 28804. Cost for the whole week is $150.
Lindsey Kelley, a native of the Florida panhandle, loves children. She received a BFA in Dance Performance from the University of South Florida in 2007. Upon graduation, she has had the splendid opportunity to work with Monica Bill Barnes, Sean Curran, Rebecca Davis, Yesid Lopez, Laura Peterson, Becky Radway, Oliver and Teri Steele and Saul Ulerio in NYC. Lindsey is also a former member of Contemporary Ballet Theatre, The Human Institution, Michiyo and Dancers, Naganuma Dance and STEPS on Broadway’s Repertory Ensemble. Her own work has been presented at the American College Dance Festival, Asheville Contemporary Dance Theatre’s 48-Hour Dance Festival, Food for Thought/Danspace Project, Goucher College, PMT Dance Festival, STEPS on Broadway and the Triskelion Arts Festival in NYC.
What to Bring:
1. Moveable attire (Princess gowns, leotards, crowns, wands, etc. are all welcome)
