Trees, Plants, and Fungi of the Southern Mountains, a seven Saturday series!

Join us in witnessing the lavish unfurling of Spring as we learn to identify, appreciate, and utilize our local tree, plant and fungal allies.

Class will be held at various forest sites in the Asheville area and at the Living Skills School (20 minutes Northeast of Asheville).

Taught by Luke Cannon with guest teacher Natalie Bogwalker.

Each class will explore a new site, emphasizing a variety of local habitats and forest-communities. Class focuses will be: botanical identification, uses for homesteading and survival, edible & medicinal uses, harvesting ethics, and ecological connections.

While in the woods, we will also touch on animal tracks, birds, insects, mosses, lichens and many other wild treasures of our region.
