The December 6 event is a fundraiser for Biblioworks, an NC-based nonprofit (and spinoff of Asheville-based bookseller Biblio.com) that builds and stocks libraries in impoverished communities in Bolivia. It was started by a PeaceCorps volunteer and is the only nonprofit building libraries in this nation of more than 10 million people.
Betsey Russell will be selling and signing her book, along with other local authors, and donating a portion of proceeds to Biblioworks. Debby Maugans with her new cookbook, Farmer & Chef Asheville which is on Malaprops’ bestseller rack; will also be there.
Event starts at 7 and runs until 9:30. Also a silent auction. Tickets are $12.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door, and include free food and drinks, and DJ Chrome C.
