Hiking is big in Asheville and Western North Carolina. The great outdoors here has so much to offer and experience. What are some of your favorite places to hike in the Asheville NC area?

Max Patch, Mt. Pisgah, Mt. Mitchell, and DuPont are some of my favorite hikes on foot. If you want 360 degree views or waterfalls you can take your pick and go. Or just ride the park way and pick a spot to pull off and go hike!

When we take the horses out we love to go to Harmon’s Den, Cataloochee, and Tyron. There are endless horseback riding and hiking trails in WNC.

The trail is short but steep (3/4 mile one way) to the pinnacle at Craggy Summit — and I love the reward of having a snack and sitting on top of the world (about 5700 feet).

I also enjoy Catawba Falls Trail, The Mount Pisgah Trail. For easy acess and plenty of great scenery, I head to teh NC Arboretum — which is surrounded by fairly easy trails that cover lots of miles.
